About this deal

While this may seem frustrating and slow at times, it gives the reader a real sense of what it feels like for the family waiting for news in this kind of situation. Emily, she is one horrible woman and I became annoyed with her chapters upon chapters of endless self pity so much so that I started to do the skim. It's told using dual narratives, that of both Jess and Emily and honestly, they both made me feel uneasy and wary. Emily’s neat dark bob has lost its party sheen of the night before, and she looks tiny beside James, whose posture is like that of a great wide-shouldered boy.

Things mostly follow along in the current time but there are flashes in the story to develop the past between Jess and Emily to dive deeper into their relationship. There was one character that I truly hated, this person was so cruel and vindictive and I spent the whole book hoping that this person would get their comeuppance. Holly Seddon, author of Don't Close Your Eyes 'A twisted world of family secrets and sibling rivalry. Isabel Ashdown, "Η μικρή αδερφή", που κυκλοφόρησε μόλις πριν από λίγες ημέρες από τις εκδόσεις Ψυχογιός, "ερωτεύτηκα". A long estrangement of sixteen years has been swept under the carpet and they've once again become close to the point that Jess has moved in with Emily and her family. But, I felt like the disappearance of Daisy was a buffer to the actual story of the two sisters Jess and Emily. This is one of those books that make you question everything you thought was correct and then another curve ball is thrown into the mix. flashbacks που προκύπτουν ανά τακτά διαστήματα και που συνθέτουν κομμάτι κομμάτι το παζλ του παρελθόντος τους που τις χώρισε, μας βοηθούν στο να τις κατανοήσουμε καλύτερα, είτε τις αποδεχόμαστε είτε όχι, κάτι που ισχύει και για τις αποφάσεις και τις πράξεις τους. New information about this family’s relationship is constantly emerging and I found the pace a bit too slow in places, and this was likely a result of the suspense.

I also loved the past between both sisters being gradually revealed alongside the current situation. I try my best to answer them all, but I’m sure I must come across as guilty in some way, because I can’t quite seize all the details, and even in my confused state I can see how some of the gaps seem oddly placed.

Little Sister kept me up three nights in a row, I was desperate to race to the end but gutted to finish it. An engrossing tale of sibling rivalry, broken loyalty and shocking secrets that had me eagerly turning the pages with each new twist in this plot driven book, tying things up nicely with its suprising ending. It also makes each devastating new bombshell that Isabel Ashdown throws in all the more explosive and unexpected.

the inspector repeats, and I snap to attention, trying to blink myself towards some sense of clarity.

Thank to Kensington Books and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book to read in exchange for my honest opinion. The kitchen lights overhead felt suddenly too brash and I flinched, swallowing my anger as I snatched up your bottle and slopped milk across the counter. There were times however when the reader knew things the police didn’t, and I was waiting for them to join the dots and catch up. Gytha Lodge has written a compelling story of crime fiction which not only twists and turns but also includes darker themes at its core.

At the front door I saw her button up her neat fawn coat and whisper something to him – and he’d rushed back in with a tub of chocolates, sliding them across the coffee table towards me. She tries to cut off the cat's tail, eats all the trifle at Harry's party and gets up to all kinds of other antics, involving a wobbly tooth, a visit to the doctor, and a traumatic encounter with Father Christmas.
